Schloss Wiesent

Welcome to Schloss Wiesent, a prominent landmark in the heart of the village of Wiesent. This privately-owned castle serves as a unique blend of residential and commercial space, housing apartments and businesses. Though primarily viewed from the outside, visitors can still appreciate its architecture and explore a small museum within its walls.

History
Built in 1695 by Count Rudolf von Lintelo on the site of a medieval fortress destroyed during the Thirty Years’ War. This reconstruction transformed the castle into the baroque style that defines its appearance today. The hudetz tower was added in 1762 under Baron von Falkenberg, and the castle hosted a beer brewery until 1881.
